Jose Abreu

Jose Abreu is a business management professional with over 15 years of experience in business development, relationship building, and project management across various industries in Chile, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the United States. He earned a Bachelor's degree in business management from Universidad Instituto Cultural Dominico-Americano, graduating with highest honors. He also obtained a certificate in innovation management by Universidad De Chile in 2014.
Jose joined Eastern Bank in 2017, starting in consumer banking and later moving to the business banking team, where he now supports small businesses in Northern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He leads the Equity Alliance for Business, a program that helps entrepreneurs of color and women-owned businesses with resources and loans. His outstanding contributions have earned him the Office of the President Award at Eastern Bank.
Within Eastern Bank, Jose is an active member of several employee resource groups, supporting LGBTQIA+ communities, young professionals, Latinos, and people with disabilities. He also mentors small business owners and serves on the Board of Advisors for Entrepreneurship for All in Merrimack Valley and Lynn. Additionally, he is a Board Member for the Daydreaming Organization and ALPFA Boston, where he has performed as the Director of Memberships leaving a legacy of paid membership growth by 15% year over year during the last 3 years and most currently as the Co-Director of Rising Latino Leaders & Executive further advancing the programming around the next generation of senior and executives among our community. Jose is also involved in Business Networking International in South Boston and serves on the Alumni Board for AIESEC International. He is passionate about helping small businesses improve their strategic plans and operations.
Jose has been recognized as an outstanding Latino professional by Eastern Bank and was named a Rising Star by ALPFA Boston in 2022, receiving the Committee Impact Award in 2023. In 2024 he was named one of Amplify Latinx ALX 100 honorees, recognizing his impact on the Latine Community with financial literacy and coaching. He also received the Eastern Bank Core Values Award for his commitment to the community as one of Eastern Bank TOP 20 employee volunteers company-wide. In 2025 Jose has been appointed as member of the City of Chelsea MA steering committee to build up the new City Master Plan to address the future of the city and its residents. He continues to support the small business community by offering financial literacy sessions and advice on access to capital.
